Larry Eugene Tallant, 76, of East Ridge, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, renowned for his kindness and unwavering support. Larry had a remarkable ability to bring warmth and laughter to those around him. His dedication to family, friends, and community left a lasting impact, as he touched many lives through his generosity and wisdom.

Larry was a dedicated member of Crosspath Church, serving faithfully as a videographer. Most mornings, he could be seen at Brainerd Baptist BX. With a strong academic background, he earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Mathematics and Physics, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. After a rewarding career, Larry retired from Olan Mills, where he had worked for 37 years. He was a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army who served as a Captain and was honored with the Silver Star and the Bronze Star with oak leaf clusters. He was a proud member of VFW Post 1697.

Larry is remembered lovingly by his wife of 56 years, Martha Burnette Tallant, and leaves behind his son, Joey Tallant (Allyse), daughter, Jennifer Tallant Fuller (Scott), and two beloved grandchildren, Bailey and Merritt Tallant. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Tallant, and many friends and loved ones who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Tallant. Although Larry is no longer with us in body, his spirit endures in the numerous cherished moments shared with those he loved.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday from 3 to 7 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, located at 404 South Moore Road. A celebration of life service will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. William Jacques and Dr. Ronnie Mitchell. Following the service, burial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery, where military honors will be presented.

In memory of Larry, we invite everyone to reflect on their unique experiences with him by sharing special stories or memories. A Memory Box will be available at the service for writing notes, and you can also share your thoughts online at www.ChattanoogaEastChapel.com. These tributes will honor the incredible impact he had on our lives and offer comfort to those who knew and loved him.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crosspath Church, located at 4201 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, Tennessee 37412 (https://www.crosspathchurch.org/give-online.) May we remember him fondly and take solace in the love he shared with us all.
