V. Rob Robinson, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. He had lived in Hixson most of his adult life and was a Christian and an active member of Middle Cross Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Pauline Robinson; and his sisters, Nancy Beene and Paula Tait.

Rob is survived by his wife, Sally A. Robinson; daughters, Stacy Holder and Rebecca (Garrett) Meers; grandson, Braxton "Best Buddy” C. Holder; granddaughters Olyvia "Sweetie” C. Meers and Ashton Meers; brother, Raymond W. Robinson. Mr. Robinson proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Cuban Crisis, Dominican Republic and was a decorated veteran of South Viet-Nam. Rob completed his military career in the U. S. reserves, retiring as a Sgt. Major.

He was a life member of the NRA and the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation and National Museum. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School, class of 1961 and the University of Tennessee and UTC in 1971. He also retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield in 2005.

One passion in life was competitive shooting in the big bore rifle matches. He was a weapons expert and fired on several rifle teams for the U. S. Military. His travels across the southern United States and East Coast for rifle competition was an added benefit he truly enjoyed. Interment will be at the National Cemetery with full military honors on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm with Pastors Eddie Ellison and Ed Gravett officiating.
